Meganucleases are natural enzymes from yeast, bacteria, algae and fungi that recognize and cleave at unique positions in the genomic DNA of their originating hosts.
Meganucleases induce DNA double-strand breaks that can be repaired using natural homologous recombination.
We have introduced the recognition site of a natural meganuclease in the genome of the most common mammalian cell lines. These pre-engineered cell lines can achieve targeted integration when used in combination with a natural meganuclease and a repair matrix that contains the gene of interest (GOI).
